Thursday, Aug. 18 – 🎙️ Enjoy a night of poetry and spoken word performances by BIPOC writers at St. Lucas (5339 West Lake St.) from 7 to 10 p.m. The Write It Down! Collective hosts an open mic every third Thursday of the month!
Sunday, Aug. 21 – 🛍️ Check out this Chicago Southside neighborhood “Thrift and Thrive Mercado” from 12 to 4 p.m. (9100 S Commercial Ave). The monthly event includes food, sales of handmade products and secondhand items, like art, furniture, decor, and more! You can also bring your own items to sell with no fees.
Sunday, Aug. 21 – 🧺 Bring a blanket and picnic lunch to the World Refugee Day Reflection Picnic happening at Loyola Beach (1110 W. Lunt) starting at 2 p.m.
