Each week Borderless Magazine highlights some of the best things to do in Chicago’s vibrant immigrant communities.

Aug. 6 and 7 – Spend your weekend at Navy Pier, which is hosting the fourth annual LatiNxt music and arts festival! Free and family-friendly, this vibrant event will feature performances by first- and second-generation artists, a vendor market and a vinyl fair to boot.

Aug. 10 – Hear author Elly Fishman speak about her book, “Refugee High: Coming of Age in America,” at a virtual book launch hosted by the American Writers Museum. Register for the free event here, where you can also order a copy from Seminary Co-op Bookstores.

Aug. 11 – Looking for resources to support LGBTQ+ migrants? The Interfaith Community for Detained Immigrants has put together a handbook with lots of information, and will be introducing it in a free two-hour webinar. Email rsmith@icdichicago.org for the Zoom link.

Do you have an event that you’d like us to feature? Email us at info@borderlessmag.org and we’ll try to include it in the future!
