Thursday, Jan. 20 – Experience Cuban culture tonight with live music, food and guest speakers in a celebration of the Cuban Revolution. The event is hosted by Political Education for the Revolutionary and the We Got Us Initiative and is from 6-8 p.m. at 2242 S. Damen. Learn more here.
Friday, Jan. 21 – City Bureau’s Public Newsroom is hosting a virtual conversation about fighting environmental racism. Panelists include the Southeast Youth Alliance organizers featured in our comic book about the fight against General Iron, “Reclaiming the Sacrifice Zone.” Event is from 6–8 p.m. Register here.
Saturday, Jan. 22 – Celebrate the Lunar New Year early this Saturday with a lion dance performance, gift bags and more! The event by the Vietnamese Association of Illinois is from 12-3 p.m. at 5110 N Broadway St. Masks are required. Learn more here.
